About The Artist

Jason Schultz, 46, of Albany, is a local landscape designer and artist, specializing in salvaged and recycled materials.

I've had the pleasure of living in the Capital Region for more than 10 years. Originally from rural Minnesota, I graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1996 with a degree in landscape design. I moved to Albany with my wife, Cindy, in 1998 when she accepted a job as a staff photographer with the Times Union. Since then I have worked at Brookside Nursery in Ballston Spa, where I design landscapes for high-end homes in Saratoga County.

Although I've always created art in some form for my own enjoyment, more recently I've concentrated on recycled art for the home and garden. Salvaged wood, metal, and stone are my favorite media. I love to carve, chisel, and sand old weathered wood; cut, torch, and weld metal objects together, and build dry-laid stone figures of all shapes and sizes.
